A year ago, when this video was launched, this was "only" a concept. However, our engineers have been working hard on this over the last 12 months and have come up with a prototype which underlines the technical feasibility of our concept. This is interesting. I like the truss design they have going inside the walls of the car (Excuse my terminology lol). Was that inspired by bird bones?
The design was inspired by a turtle, which has a shell that provides protection and cushioning and is part of the animal's bony structure. The shell is similar to a sandwich component, with fine, inlying bone structures that give the shell its strength and stability.

Give an engineer a goal and there will be hundreds of paths & outcomes. Before these clowns get to exterior designs first set perimeters of desired functions. Sure the guy playing with the Wacom Cintiq says there is a bit of knowledge going on here, but i'd start with scanning existing engine transaxle, suspension, capillaries for electrical and fuel. Nelson Racing Engines is a start. I'd go for a Textreme Carbon-Fiber/Zylon prepeg from www.compositeenvisions.com (only on demand supplier of short yardage state side other than European suppliers). That fabric with the proper epoxy over-layed a 3D printed PEEK plastic (off patents now was a Stratasys "Ultem 9010 or 9085)in thin cored body panels/thicker frame monocoque using 3DP-Platform WorkBench Series#400 printer with sandwich joinery(micro glue paths). Additional width/length of panels can be done with Lamelo Invisa connectors( www.swissinvis.com Calif. outlet). Obviously a supercar impact resistant and super light while being powered with outrageous horses/ torck N R E 's isn't done without mega bucks and wit.

How do you make money with concept cars?
Concept cars are not developed for sale, thus they are not the product we are making money with in the first point. Concept cars are developed in order to show future trends in mobility and how they can be put into a vehilce.
Wem soll so der City Bot dann gehören? Bekommt der Besitzer das Geld, was das Fahrzeug verdient?
Der EDAG CityBot ist eher nicht für den Privatbesitz gedacht, Zielkunden sind vielmehr OEM, Stadtentwickler und -planer, Infrastrukturverbände, Verkehrs-, Entsorgungs- und Transportbetriebe, kommunale Einrichtungen und Logistiker. Das Geld, das der EDAG CityBot verdient, könnte beispielsweise für die Unterhaltung der Fahrzeuge investiert werden.
Ab wann soll der CityBot denn auf die Straße kommen?
Dafür erarbeiten wir aktuell ein Konzept mit möglichen Kooperationspartnern.

Public Rapid Transport system is almost the same but much easier. Difference is tu use small paths in neurotype net 3D. Wehicles in such a net don't need so much independancy and don't have to bu such safe - as during driving on regular road between people. PRT is scalable, paths can goes on the ground, under or above.
